One of the agencies that has been frequently pointed out is Starship Entertainment, and the agency is saying enough is enough. They will no longer tolerate such accusations and will be taking legal action against those who spread malicious comments and associate their artists with 'sajaegi'.
Starship just sent out a press release with the statement, "We will be pursuing legal action against those who have been leaving malicious comments, spreading false rumors about 'sajaegi' by our artists, and insisting on false claims with ill intent."
"There have been many insulting comments that we cannot tolerate and false words about Starship's artists. Even recently, malicious commenters have been fabricating false claims regarding the 'sajaegi' rumors and leaving offensive words that target our morals. We believe that this is not simply defamation of character, but also a crime that violates the basic human rights that everyone should be guaranteed. Thus, with our artists suffering much pain from groundless rumors regarding 'sajaegi', and the achievements produced by their sweat and efforts being undermined, we have decided to [take action] as we can no longer overlook the matter. Therefore, we have appointed the law firm Sejong to take aggressive legal action and have begun collecting data."
They also added, "Although they had been suffering from an immense amount of malicious comments, Starship artists had endured it up til now as they are public figures. However, with the number of netizens, who repetitively and calculatingly leave malicious comments over the past several years, increasing, it has come to a point where our artists can no longer endure it even as public figures."
