The prosecution was said to have filed the arrest warrant after taking into account how Shin created and bruited malicious, defaming articles regarding Lee Si Young and the actress wishes for the culprit to be punished. It was investigated that Shin had heard rumors about Lee Si Young's sex tapes at a private meeting and proceeded to spread the falsehood to around ten people using messaging service KakaoTalk and various social media sites.
A rep from the prosecution office relayed, "After Shin sent the messages via KakaoTalk, the falsity spread exponentially, passing through the political community." The so-called sex tape was investigated to have not existed at all.
This past June, rumors were circulating that there was a video going around related to Lee Si Young, and that her agency, J,Wide-Company, got ahold of the video to blackmail her. The agency had promptly filed a complaint at the Seoul Prosecutors Office, asking for the perpetrator to be punished.
