It's official. 'Assassination' has become the most watched film in all of Korea this year, topping even western blockbuster hit 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' in terms of admissions.

As of today, the film is a mere inches away from reaching the 11 million mark with a whopping 10.79 million viewers having gone to the theater thus far to watch the blockbuster. 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' garnered 10.49 viewers, but financially, it raked in around $75 million in whereas 'Assassination' grossed $71 million. 'Assassination's immense box office success is still worth noting as it attracted nearly a fifth of the Korean population!
The star-studded film featuring actress Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Jung Woo, Lee Jung Jae, and others made this breakthrough right around the time of Korea's 70th Independence Day.
