On JTBC's 'Abnormal Summit' on March 2, Moon Hee Jun of old-school SM Entertainment group H.O.T gave the details on how much the popular idols made during their promotion period.
Chinese representative Zhang Yuan touched upon the boys' popularity in his native country, saying, "H.O.T was the first generation of Hallyu. There were about 8 million fan clubs in China. There were even students who went to study abroad in Korea because of H.O.T."

Moon Hee Jun further surprised by revealing, "We filmed a lot of CFs in China while H.O.T was active. We earned about 100 billion KRW (~ 91.2 million USD) in one year and 500 billion KRW (~ 456 million USD) in five years in China."
However, Moon Hee Jun added, "But that profit was not all my own," making everyone laugh. It still is impressive, though!
