On one of her most popular roles as the quirky Chun Song Yi in the hit drama 'You Who Came From the Stars', Jun Ji Hyun said, "Honestly, she was a difficult character to act out," explaining how she kept having to portray the character positively, but wanted to show something more, which was a burden. She continued, "While doing 'You Who Came From the Stars', I felt a sense of duty that I had to make people laugh once per episode."
She also explained how she preferred acting out characters that were different from her true personality like in movies 'Berlin' and 'Assassination' because it actually felt like acting to her rather than when she played somebody similar to herself.
