Back on a past episode of 'Good Morning' Hong Jin Hee commented, "Actors can't just not do cosmetic surgery and/or botox. [Lately] I've been thinking about cosmetic surgery. I've been at crossroads contemplating on whether I should be living like my own age or getting my face lifted. I think it's a must that I should smooth some of the fine lines on my face."
It seems Hong Jin Hee was pointing out that since the face is one of the most important attributes of an actor, it is the actor's responsibility to routinely maintain their appearance and continue to improve as they are in the public eye.

With her past comment regaining spotlight, netizens expressed their differing points of view. While some commented positively on how confident and honest Hong Jin Hee was and that they understood what she was saying since visuals are something that are associated with actors. However, others questioned whether if she was saying cosmetic procedures are a necessity for her own satisfaction or because she really thought it was her responsibility as a public figure.
