Roy Kim appeared on the October 16 airing of MBC radio program 'Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope' and talked about being a student at an American university, revealing that he had to endure unpleasantness while attending Georgetown University for a year.
DJ Kim Shin Young said, "I heard you received straight A's in college. That's amazing." Roy Kim responded, "I think it's because I got into the easy courses. I went into the professors' website, looked at the professors' ratings, and looked for generously giving people."
Kim Shin Young asked, "I think the charm of college life is being active in clubs. Did you do a lot of club activities?" Roy Kim replied, "It's good to do a lot of club activities, but I was unable to do a lot. I mostly played soccer and got into an a cappella club, but I did not like their unfriendliness towards outsiders, so I left."

He continued, "Those people knew I was promoting as a singer in Korea, so they ignored the people I came [into the club] with. I had entered the club with a close friend, but they told the friend he couldn't sing and told me to be solo, and I hated that treatment," hinting that the club members had ostracized and acted better than that friend.
Kim Shin Young continued, "I graduated in 2003, so I should go there and flip tables. I will really punish them," making everyone laugh.
