In the video, the young members of the Korean Air Force Academy can be seen struggling to eat in a perpendicular style, raising their spoon upward in a straight line, before bringing it to their mouths just as rigidly. The result is some food fails, which culminate towards the end of the clip.
The function for this? To exercise while you eat? To suck away the enjoyment of eating? Who knows. All we can say for now is that this "perpendicular" method is not the most ideal way to eat, for both the person eating and the person sitting across.
