Korean composer Joo Young Hoon to begin legal procedures against Meghan Trainor for plagiarism

Koyote

Previously, suspicions that American artist Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" plagiarized Koyote's "Happy Mode" (2006) arose with both sides saying they were looking into the situation.  It now appears as though Joo Young Hoon, who composed "Happy Mode," has started legal procedures

In a recent interview, Joo Young Hoon stated, "I've appointed an American lawyer and we've started the legal procedure.  Currently, we are waiting for a response from the artist in question.

Currently, the Korea Music Copyright Association had requested documents about the singer and composer from the distributor and publisher of this song.  Our side will also ask for a response from that singer's side about this."

Previously, it was also noted that both songs greatly resembled Phish's song "Contact" from 1989.  You can check out a comparison video below between "All That Bass" and "Happy Mode."
