A few months ago, malicious rumors began circulating regarding Sulli's trip to the emergency room for stomach pains arising from stress. As a response, SM Entertainment decided to take strong legal action against the perpetrators for harassment.
However, SM Entertainment revealed that after confirmation of the circulator's identity as a student and her sincere apology, Sulli asked the charges to be dropped.

On June 11, the agency released an official statement:
"Around the end of March, we decided to take legal action in order to protect our artist after malicious rumors spread about our artist Sulli online with a baseless lie.
We filed charges at the police headquarters that had jurisdiction over Cyber Defamation and other charges for initial circulation of the relevant rumor on the internet as well as being a person of concern. Through the police headquarter's assistance in the criminal investigation, we were able to confirm the identity of the first circulator of these malicious rumors, who came to realize that creating and circulating malicious rumors out of false content were criminal acts, showed deep self-reflection, and promised not to do this again.
In relation to the creation and circulation of the malicious rumor, the circulator sincerely apologized to Sulli, reflected on it, repented the wrongdoing, and promised not to do it again. Sulli considered the fact that she was a female student of the same age group and asked to make favorable arrangements with the circulator, so we respected Sulli's intentions and have dropped the charges for the current situation on June 10.
However, this withdrawal of charges is an exception, and if there are additional circulation or spreading of content proven to be baseless and false malicious rumors about Sulli, we will handle it firmly. Through continuous monitoring, we will strongly react to any illegal actions that give pain to our signed artists and their families."
