Wonder Girls member Yenny will be making her acting debut in tvN's new Monday and Tuesday drama 'Basketball.'
'Basketball' will cover the turbulent times in Korea since the Japanese colonial era to the division after liberation. It will center on the harmony of the younger generation's love and conflicts as they plow through the darkness to find a light through the sport of basketball. This will be the first product of director Kwak Jung Hwan of 'Chuno' and 'Fugitive Plan B' fame since he transferred to CJ E&M.

Wonder Girls's Yenny will be playing the part of servant girl Bong Soon, who has a Chungcheong-do accent and speaks in a simple and honest way. She has a warm heart as she protectively stays by the main character Elijah's (played by Choi Sin Young) side.
Yenny appears to have completely absorbed her character on set, even receiving compliments from Director Kwak Jung Hwan who said, "She has a striking understanding of her acting role."
Yenny said, "Because 'Basketball' depicts the rigid upperclass in the 1930s to 1940s, I wanted a character who got to wear pretty clothing. However, I grew a liking for the Bong Soon character after considering the chance to evoke sympathy from the audience by playing the most ordinary female during the Japanese colonial era."
Taking place when the Korean peninsula is on the brink of dividing into north and south, 'Basketball' covers the true story of the basketball team that participated in the Olympics in 1948 for the first and last time on behalf of the Korean nation as a whole, making it so far until they were one of the last eight teams according to myth. The main characters will be Do Ji Han and Elijah.
Starting on the 21st, the drama will air every week on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 pm KST so make sure to check it out to see Yenny's acting skills and learn more about Korea's past.
