Ryu Shi Won's lawyer gave his statement on behalf of the actor and claimed, "I've never slapped my wife's cheeks and although I lashed out in rough rants, it was merely a fight with words and there was no physical violence."
Ryu Shi Won also admitted to illegally using a GPS tracking device to trace his wife's whereabouts and explained, "I only did it for the safety of my wife and young daughter."
The court responded, "Ryu Shi Won's wife has 150 audio recordings of the conversations she had with Ryu Shi Won following their marriage. She also recorded the moment that she claimed to be assaulted. We need to review the CD carefully in order to confirm the sounds are related to the supposed assault."
In the next trial scheduled to be held on July 18, the contents of the CD will be reviewed and witnesses will also come to the stand to give their own account.
