Girls' Generation's Yuri concluded her debut as an actress on SBS's 'Fashion King' to great reviews.
Playing the role of a world famous designer who overcame discrimination while working overseas, Yuri had to take on scenes that would've been hard for any novice, especially kiss scenes considering she's also an idol.
Viewers and netizens praised her improvement by leaving comments like, "She's an idol turned actress who actually knows what she's doing."
But what did the actual producers think? One official stated, "Despite it being her first time acting, Yuri finished off the scripts well. She exceeded our expectations, and the producers were very satisfied with her work." Another stated, "Yuri did well for her first time. There's a lot of fire in her."
Lee Jae Hoon, who played her lover, expressed, "Yuri has a strong desire for acting. I feel happy for her to see such determination."
SM Entertainment officials also stated, "'Fashion King' is Yuri's first drama, and she worked so hard to the point where the script never left her hands. She's been taking acting lessons for a while now, and we believed she's done well because she works so hard."
Yuri commented, "I felt awkward watching myself on screen so I'm thankful that people thought well of me. There's nothing more to do than to work hard to fill what I lack."
