Lee Hyori recently took to her Twitter to recommend an extended visit at a temple to fans.
On April 6th, Lee Hyori tweeted, "I just visited a Temple Stay. After doing Balwoo Gongyang, (A ceremony, which involves cleaning your rice bowl and side dishes with water, and then drinking the dissolved liquid.) I thought to myself that if everyone eats in this clean and sustainable manner, the world would become a more beautiful place. It was a very good experience, everyone should try it out."
She continued, "If you don't have a Temple Stay near you, try and experience it indirectly by watching 'Golden 12'. It was a lot more rewarding, fun, and meaningful than I expected it would be."
Fans were pleasantly surprised by her experience because of the fact that not many celebrities would commit to the rural journey and spiritual process. She later added,"Even if you're not Buddhist, Temple Stays are good for experiencing our culture."
Fans commented, "Wow she went to a Temple Stay, doesn't really go along with her image," "Your caring attitude towards the environment is so beautiful," and "Ok, you got me interested. I'll try it out."
"Temple Stays", which are quite common in South Korea, are Buddhist temples usually located deep in mountains. This provides the perfect chance for visitors to fully experience the beauty of nature and relieve the stress they have accumulated in their city environment by meditating and relaxing in a state of tranquility, all while learning more about Buddhism.
