[caption id="attachment_297811" align="aligncenter" width="520" caption="Having debuted as young idol group Sweety in 2008, the members have since gone their separate ways"][/caption] Netizens are weighing out the negative and positive effects of the Fair Trade Commission's (FTC) recent action of limiting the exposure of young idols. On June 16th, the FTC revised the 'Pop Culture Artists Exclusive Standard Contract' by adding content about limiting physical exposure of young celebrities and protecting their right to education as well as their personal rights, part of their fundamental human rights. This is predicted to affect the music industry significantly, influencing everything from girl groups' fashion to their choreography. In regards to this revision, netizens have commented, "How much exposure are you going to allow?", "What's the difference between protection and interference?", "It is true that fashion and choreography are very competitive [among idols]", and "I think they should just control the level of exposure". If the revised contract is put in use, young idols and their parents can actively protest against too much exposure and inquire about their frequent school absences. Entertainment agencies can also use the contract to defy the unreasonable demands of broadcasting companies as well production companies. [gallery] Source: Naver
