Actor Lee Dong Gun (29) has enlisted himself in the army on June 15th where he will receive five weeks of basic military training under Chuncheon 102 Support Group as a recruit. Thereafter, he will be assigned to another unit where he will serve for the next two years as an active soldier. A close associate revealed yesterday, "Lee Dong Gun had terminated all his activities before his enlistment and has been preparing for the army while on hiatus. He is entering at a later date than most people so he only told those that he is closest with about this, in order not to create a ruckus." Lee Dong Gun expressed, "I am sorry for the late announcement but I did not want to create a ruckus about my enlistment. I have spent the last few days with my family and last night with my friends. I will work hard and look forward to a new experience. I hope my fans can wait for my return in two years time." Lee Dong Gun had postponed his initial enlistment last July due to health reasons. His last drama was When It's At Night in 2008 opposite Kim Sun Ah.
