Earlier this month, actor Tyrese Gibson's production company announced that they would be producing an Asian spin-off of Jersey Shore named Koreatown (K-Town). Although the production of K-Town is still in the works, it has already received both backlash as well as much support from the Asian community. Even so, there's no doubt that the reality show is garnering tons of attention! Producers Eugene Choi, Mike Le, and Eddie Kim recently sat down with IAmKoreAm for an interview of their new show. During the interview, the producers discussed various questions including the casting of the show as well as their goals of the show. Check it out! It's about time that Asians get recognized in America... but I have some reservations. I can't help but feel a bit worried on how the show will portray Asian Americans. Call me traditional, but when I first saw Jersey Shore, my jaw dropped. I still wonder how it could have gained so much popularity--eh, who am I kidding. It's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi! Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait and see what the show will bring us! Hopefully, it'll break the typical Asian stereotypes. As producer Eddie Kim said, "We're going to show Asian Americans like they've never seen before to the rest of the world!"
