On yesterday's airing of SBS's 'One Night of TV Entertainment,' singer and actress Hwang Jung Eum of 'High Kick Through the Roof' made a public appearance for the first time since catching the swine flu. During the show, Hwang Jung Eum bragged, "Because I make a lot of money, my mother is so happy... In the mornings, she even puts socks on my feet for me. This is the first time she has done this since I was a kid!" Now, growing up outside of Korea I can understand why this may be confusing for some of you. While small gestures like these may not mean much coming from most of our parents, back in Korea, it's a huge sign of respect. Later on, Hwang Jung Eum also commented about having the swine flu. She stated, "Because I got to rest, I enjoyed my time. I'm Just kidding. I'm so thankful for all the people who were concerned for me... I think people were more concerned for me this time because usually I'm a healthy person." And on being asked about her boyfriend Kim Young Jun, she commented, "He recently came back from Japan and I stayed with him all day in the hospital [because he has the swine flu] but thankfully he looked perfectly fine." Good to see Hwang Jung Eum being fully recovered from swine flu.
