The absence of After School's Soyoung from recent events that After School was in, has led to widespread speculation among fans on her whereabouts since Pledis Entertainment only released a vague response that Soyoung had some personal matters to attend to. Soyoung was absent from After School's performance of 2PM's Again & Again at MBC's Star Dance Battle and most recently at their performance for Lotte Cinema's 10th anniversary celebrations. Some fans even wondered if Soyoung had already graduated and withdrew from After School without notice, with many anxious for the real reason. But Pledis Entertainment has finally dismissed the rumors by saying on the 20th, "The rumors are completely unfounded. Soyoung's body condition wasn't that good recently and she was only taking a rest. She also took a vacation to visit her brother who is currently studying in the UK with her parents." Pledis added, "It's not a must that all members must appear for After School's activities. Besides Soyoung's recent absence, UEE has also missed quite a few After School activities due to her drama filming. After School will be releasing their new mini album in early November and Soyoung will of course be participating in it."
