Yang Hyun Suk has unveiled exciting plans for YG Entertainment's artists in his final announcement video of 2024.
In a major update for TREASURE, Yang revealed a leadership change within the group. Choi Hyun Suk and Jihoon will step down as leaders, with Junkyu and Asahi taking on the roles starting January 1, 2025.
This decision follows an internal proposal to implement a rotating leadership system, changing every 2 to 3 years. Yang emphasized the challenges and responsibilities of leading a 10-member group, highlighting the importance of this new system.
TREASURE's upcoming single, "LAST NIGHT," will be released on December 5. The group is also preparing for a new mini album in February 2025, followed by a full-length studio album slated for July or August of the same year.
According to Yang, the new single will showcase a softer, more heartfelt and "honest" side of TREASURE, offering a contrast to the high-energy, bold concepts of their previous tracks like "KING KONG," "JIKJIN," and "BONA BONA." TREASURE fans can also look forward to a fan meeting in March 2025 and a world tour kicking off in October 2025.
Yang described 2025 as a pivotal year for YG Entertainment, promising it will be "the busiest ever" for the company. In addition to TREASURE’s activities, promotions are planned for BABYMONSTER, AKMU, and WINNER, who are preparing for their own tour.
BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated world tour will also begin, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Lastly, Yang hinted at a new wave of YG talent, sharing that "many YG trainees are waiting to debut," with their debut schedules to be announced once finalized.
