On the morning of June 10, family, friends, acquaintances, and numerous hoobae stars in the entertainment industry attended a funeral for the late TV host Song Hae.
On this day, figures such as Uhm Young Soo, president of the Korea Broadcast Comedy Association; Lee Ja Yeon, president of the Korea Singers Association; as well as a number of veteran comedians delivered remarked remembering the late TV host, who debuted as an actor for a musikdrama troop in 1955. Many hoobae stars remembered Song Hae as "a teacher and a father figure to all broadcasters for the past 70 years", and prayed, "may he rest in peace in heaven with his late wife and late son."
After the funeral, hoobae stars including Choi Yang Rak, Yoo Jae Suk, Kang Ho Dong, Jo Se Ho, and Yang Sang Guk acted as pallbearers as the late Song Hae's coffin was transported into the hearse.
Before heading to the burial site, the funeral procession visited various locations such as Song Hae's favorite restaurant, his hair salon, the sauna he often visited, 'Song Hae Street' located in Nakwon-dong, Jongro-gu, and the KBS building in Yeouido.
Meanwhile, the late Song Hae passed away earlier this week on June 8 at the age of 95, after collapsing in his home. He was known as "the world's oldest TV music talent show host" for hosting KBS1's 'National Singing Contest' for nearly 35 years.
