Former Jewelry member Baby J (Ha Joo Yeon) revealed she worked at a cafe for minimum wage.
The former idol appeared on the YouTube channel 'Update Olympics', which interviews stars who've been out of the limelight. As fans of old-school K-pop know, Jewelry was a girl group that debuted in 2001 known for their massively popular hit "One More Time". Since Ha Joo Yeon left the group in 2014, she's appeared on shows like Mnet's 'Show Me the Money 5' and 'Unpretty Rapstar 3'.
Ha Joo Yeon expressed on their popularity at the time, "We had to do 6-7 events a day during those days. We even rode in a helicopter once. I'd get in the car and close my eyes to find myself in Daegu, Jeonju, or Busan. Then we'd sing, dance, greet fans, and go back home. That was my lifestyle for a year."
She also revealed she hasn't been able to receive job offers in entertainment, and with her parents sick, she worked at a cafe for minimum wage. Ha Joo Yeon said, "I started working at a cafe since the year before last. I quit last year, but I'm going for another interview later because I haven't been able to find entertainment work. I'd work 8-9 hours a day and get paid 1 million Won ($885 USD) a month because it's minimum wage."
Stay tuned for updates on Jewelry and Baby J.

No shame in that! At least she is working instead of expecting to be supported by other people.
