Tteokbokki continues to remain one of the most must-go to South Korean dishes, and why wouldn't it be? You have the spicy sauce that's smothered all over chewy rice cakes; what isn't there to love about this dish? If you're a huge enthusiast of tteokbokkii, you'll be pleased to know that there have been some new flavors released in recent years - why not give them a go?

1. Basil Cream Tteokbokki: You've heard of basil cream pasta, but basil cream tteokbokki was all the rage a couple of months ago! With a pesto creamy base, this is perfect for anyone who wants the savory flavor of tteokbokki but not necessarily the spice! The bits of bacon and juicy tender shrimp are an added plus!

2. Mint Chocolate Chip Tteokbokki: Yeah, this might not be for everyone... Either you like it, or you hate it. For those who aren't afraid to take your taste buds to the next challenge, try out the mint chocolate chip tteokbokki! Looks pretty intimidating at first, but don't knock it till you try it, right?

3. Royal Tteokbokki: Stir fried rice cakes in a soy sauce base with beef and vegetables; this tteokbokki is perfect if you're someone who doesn't like when rice cakes are so saucy. Known as royal tteokbokki, this dish is traditionally a royal court cuisine!

4. Potato Tteokbokki: If you're not a fan of rice cakes, then try this potato version! They do say potatoes are one of the most versatile foods around, so why not use it to make tteokbokki too?

5. Rice Paper Tteokbokki: If you find yourself craving this dish, but it's difficult to find rice cakes near you, then try out rice paper instead! All you do is simply wet the rice paper, roll it up and cut into desired pieces! The great thing is you can fill up these rice papers with any kind of filling! Cheese, sausage, and more!

6. Jjajjang Ttteokbokki: Another great twist on an otherwise classic dish. If you're a fan of black bean noodles, also known as jjajjangmyun, then you're bound to love the rice cake version just as much!

7. Curry Tteokbokki: Now, this isn't one that's recommended often, but if you're a fan of curry, the savory, the sweet, and want a bit more spices to your dish, then try out the curry tteokbokki!

8. Rose Tteokbooki: Rose tteokbokki has become one of the trendiest flavors for tteokbokki and is known for its sweet and spicy flavor. It adds a lot of cheese, heavy cream, and milk, so if you can't handle spicy, then you'll probably enjoy this creamy version of tteokbokki.

Tteokbokki is a classic dish in Korea, and it's no wonder because you can just tailor it to what your heart desires! The classic is great and must-have street food if you visit the food stalls in Korea, but imagine how these other flavors taste like! Give it a try yourself!
