A Korean streamer has been arrested for defrauding K-pop fans.
According to MBC News, an Afreeca TV streamer was arrested on June 8 for committing fraud against K-pop fans by selling non-existent tickets for the upcoming '1st Dream Concert Trot' and '28th Dream Concert' concerts, which sold out in 20 minutes. It's reported the streamer sold the tickets for full price on a reselling platform, and after obtaining the buyers' personal information, he bought gift cards for himself.
After discovering the scammer was a live streamer, the victims found his address through the live stream and contacted the restaurant he orders from to report him to police. It's reported a total of 23 victims lost 60 million Won ($47,218.25 USD).
