The debate about the relationship between the late Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun during Kim Sae Ron's underage years continues, with new claims emerging. 

On April 9, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho from the channel 'Entertainment King Lee Jin Ho' released a video titled "Late Kim Sae Ron's Ex-Boyfriend's Truth. The Real Story of Kim Soo Hyun's 6-Year Relationship!" He revealed that, contrary to prior claims, both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were reportedly in different relationships during the period when Kim Sae Ron had claimed to be dating Kim Soo Hyun in 2019, a claim that had stirred controversy.

In the video, Lee Jin Ho shared findings from his investigation into Kim Sae Ron's romantic relationships between 2016 and the time she became an adult. He reported that Kim Sae Ron, known for her friendly personality, had relationships with a variety of people, including fellow actors, sports stars, businessmen, singers, idols, and even an American husband. He further disclosed that, in 2016, Kim Sae Ron was dating someone other than Kim Soo Hyun, with his investigation focusing on two specific individuals who were linked to her during that period. 

According to Lee, while Kim Sae Ron had mentioned these individuals as her boyfriends to friends, it was later confirmed that she had not actually been in a relationship with them. He also pointed out that objective evidence contradicted her claims.

Lee also discussed Kim Soo Hyun's relationships, claiming that the actor had been involved with another person from 2016 until the final years of his military service in 2019. Lee added that Kim Soo Hyun’s relationship lasted almost three years, with close acquaintances aware of it. 

During the controversy surrounding the 2018 'Dak-bokkeum-tang' video, Kim Soo Hyun was reportedly in this relationship, and Kim Sae Ron knew about it. At the time, the two were only close friends, occasionally meeting up with their families.

YouTuber Lee Jin Ho mentioned that the late Kim Sae Ron sent a coffee truck to her boyfriend, singer 'A', during their relationship, while concealing her identity.

Lee Jin Ho continued by claiming that both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun had relationships at the time of their rumored connection, with Lee even revealing images and videos of Kim Sae Ron engaging in intimate behavior with her boyfriend in public, specifically near the Nonhyeon and Eonju subway stations. He emphasized that this evidence was crucial in revealing the truth about the situation and avoiding further speculation.

The YouTuber also suggested that Kim Sae Ron might have lied about some details regarding her relationships. He referenced a message Kim Sae Ron had sent to a friend, where she claimed her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun lasted from November 19, 2015, until July 7, 2021. 

This message had previously been made public by the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab) and was believed to be referencing a photo she had posted in March 2024 on her social media, showing her cheek-to-cheek with Kim Soo Hyun. Lee Jin Ho stated that this photo was actually taken in 2019, not during the years claimed by Kim Sae Ron. According to him, digital evidence proved the photo’s true timestamp, challenging Kim Sae Ron’s narrative.

The video triggered comments from online users, some demanding investigations into the authenticity of the photo and calling for legal authorities to conduct forensic analysis to uncover the truth. Many expressed a desire for a swift investigation to clarify the matter.

In response to the allegations, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference on March 31, denying the claims of a relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. He also filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family and the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, claiming defamation and seeking compensation for damages totaling 11 billion KRW (about $7,553,700).

On the other hand, Kim Sae Ron’s family filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho for defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act. Later, they added charges under the Stalking Punishment Act, accusing him of violating their privacy. The family further argued that Lee Jin Ho had fabricated stories about Kim Sae Ron’s relationship with Kim Soo Hyun and manipulated social media to mislead the public. As a result of these legal actions, the court has suspended Lee Jin Ho’s broadcasts, preventing him from discussing Kim Sae Ron or her family in any capacity.
