There has been a growing frustration among Jeon So Mi fans due to her lack of activities over the last seven years.

Jeon So Mi was once considered one of the most highly anticipated and promising solo artists after proving her talent and star power during her activities with I.O.I. After winning 'Produce 101' and debuting as the center member of I.O.I in 2016, Jeon So Mi quickly became one of the leading K-pop idols in the industry.

Following the end of I.O.I, many fans expected Jeon So Mi to solidify her place in the K-pop industry as a solo artist. However, after signing with THE BLACK LABEL, her comebacks and activities seemed more inconsistent, earning more frustration from fans.

One fan pointed out that Jeon So Mi had only released 15 new songs since 2018. The fan explained, "Currently, both Jeon So Mi’s domestic and international fans are expressing their frustration over THEBLACKLABEL’s negligence. After organizing the situation, it truly seemed severe, so I decided to write about it. First of all, since Jeon So Mi moved from JYP to THEBLACKLABEL around September 2018, she has only released 15 songs up until 2025."

The fan pointed out that the only proper activity Jeon So Mi had was with "Fast Forward," but that was in 2023. The fan continued, "It was back in August two years ago... Of course, it’s not like she had zero activities last year. Around August of last year, she released an English song, 'Ice Cream' (with just one week of music show promotions)."

The fan also expressed frustration over the lack of content on Jeon So Mi's YouTube channel. They explained that the total number of content uploads on the company’s YouTube channel and So Mi’s personal YouTube channel combined was very few.

This fan also pointed out that Jeon So Mi also didn't have that many fan meetings or participate in other activities. They explained, "The birthday fan meeting in 2019 was her first and, to this day, remains her last. It’s not like she’s been active in acting or other fields either…There’s really nothing else to say except that this is just too much. Even male idols on military hiatus aren’t this inactive or have such long breaks without content…THE BLACK LABEL has 115 employees, but it’s unclear what they’re actually doing."
