Actor So Ji Sub is starting the new year on a positive note, having been appointed as the first public relations ambassador for the Korea Travel Expo (KTE).

On the 17th, the organizing committee of the first Korea Travel Expo announced, "We have appointed actor So Ji Sub, who represents the Republic of Korea, as the public relations ambassador for this event."

They added, "So Ji Sub will play a key role in promoting Korea’s diverse charms and culture to Taiwanese and international tourists who love Korea."

The Korea Travel Expo is the first Korean tourism expo to be held in Taipei, Taiwan. It is expected to serve as a significant platform for strengthening cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Korea while showcasing various Korean tourism resources to Taiwanese visitors.

The expo will feature a variety of exhibitions and interactive programs, offering visitors an opportunity to experience both Korea’s traditional culture and modern attractions. So Ji Sub is also set to participate in special events during the expo, personally promoting Korean tourism and engaging with Taiwanese visitors—an aspect that is already generating significant attention.

An official from the Korea Travel Expo Organizing Committee expressed high expectations, stating, "So Ji Sub's appointment will be a crucial factor in ensuring the success of the Korea Travel Expo. His friendly image and global fanbase will greatly contribute to promoting the appeal of Korean tourism."

So Ji Sub is also set to star in the upcoming Netflix original series The Square, scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, So Ji Sub married former reporter Jo Eun Jung, who is 17 years younger than him, in 2020.
