Singer Migyo criticized the media and netizen's malicious comments saying they are "pretending to be virtuous and it's sickening."
Singer Migyo, who gained recognition for "Yes", a response song to Yoon Jong Shin's "Like It," called out haters and the media on the day news broke of actress Kim Sae Ron’s passing.
On February 16, the day Kim Sae Ron was found deceased at her home, Migyo took to her social media and wrote, "It takes someone dying for haters to stop. They only realize it after the fact. But they probably don’t even realize that they were the ones leaving the malicious comments."
She further criticized the media and broadcasting industry, saying, "The same goes for the media. They chase after issues, create clickbait with sensational headlines, and fabricate narratives just to stir up attention. But once someone dies, they suddenly act like they had nothing to do with it, pretending to be virtuous and it’s sickening. Taking a life seems to be nothing to them. The only one to pity is the deceased."
While Migyo did not explicitly mention Kim Sae Ron, she included a hashtag and wrote, "May she rest in peace."
On February 16, at approximately 4:45 PM, Kim Sae Ron was found deceased at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, at the age of 24. A friend who had planned to meet her visited her home and reported the incident to the police. Authorities stated, "There were no signs of forced entry or evidence of foul play."
Kim Sae Ron was an actress under Gold Medalist from 2020 to 2022. However, after her DUI incident in May 2022, her contract expired that December. In May 2023, she was fined 20 million KRW (14,000 USD), and she stepped down from her role in Netflix’s 'Bloodhounds.' She attempted a theater comeback with the play 'Dongchimi,' but she voluntarily withdrew from the project after facing backlash.
