The late actress Kim Sae Ron’s former agency has expressed its condolences following her passing.
According to the Seoul Seongdong Police Station on February 16, Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, at approximately 5:54 PM KST. She would have turned 25 this year.
GOLDMEDALIST, her former agency, released an official statement saying, "We are deeply saddened to hear the unfortunate news of Kim Sae Ron’s passing. We extend our heartfelt condolences and wish her eternal peace."
GOLDMEDALIST is also the current agency of actor Kim Soo Hyun, who was involved in a dating rumor with Kim Sae Ron after she posted a close photo of them together on social media in March of last year. Incidentally, news of Kim Sae Ron’s death was announced on the same day as Kim Soo Hyun’s birthday.
Notably, GOLDMEDALIST had supported Kim Sae Ron with compensation payments after her DUI accident in 2022. On May 18, 2022, Kim Sae Ron was involved in a drunk driving accident in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, crashing into a guardrail, a tree, and a transformer multiple times. The accident caused a power outage that affected 57 nearby businesses, resulting in significant losses.
Although GOLDMEDALIST covered Kim Sae Ron’s penalty fees and compensation costs, the two parties parted ways without renewing her contract when it expired in December of that year.
