
On February 27th, Kang Myung Joo, a talented actress known for her role as a judge in the popular drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo,' passed away after a battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.
Her funeral service is being held at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, with the burial scheduled for 7:40 AM on March 2nd. Her husband, actor Park Yun Hee, and their two daughters are listed as the bereaved family members.
In a heartfelt post on her social media, her daughter, actress Park Se Young, shared the news, writing, "My mom left us yesterday afternoon. We would appreciate it if you could remember the stage she loved and the moments she shone."
Kang Myung Joo made her acting debut in 1992 with the experimental theater troupe 'Kooni, Nara' and went on to perform in numerous plays such as 'Hamlet (as Gu Il Man)', 'Circle of Lite,' 'Humans or Gods,' and 'Coriolanus.' She continued to grace the stage, with recent performances 'BEA' and '20th Century Blues.'
In addition to her theater work, Kang Myung Joo gained widespread recognition for her role as a judge in the 2022 drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo.' She also appeared in several other dramas throughout her career.
