The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call begins its global journey with a promising start.
According to FlixPatrol, an OTT content ranking site, The Trauma Code ranked 6th worldwide among Netflix TV series as of the morning of the 26th. It also claimed the top spot in Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea.
Released globally on the 24th across more than 190 countries, The Trauma Code follows Baek Kang Hyuk, a brilliant trauma surgeon who previously worked in war zones. He joins the trauma team at a university hospital, where saving patients often leads to financial losses, and works to transform the underperforming department into a functioning trauma center that genuinely saves lives.
The series is based on a popular web novel and webtoon of the same name. Ju Ji Hoon stars as Baek Kang Hyuk, while Choo Young Woo plays Yang Jae Won, an elite fellow and Baek’s first disciple, displaying strong on-screen chemistry.
Baek Kang Hyuk, portrayed by Ju Ji Hoon, was inspired by Professor Lee Guk Jong, who gained attention for shedding light on the challenging realities of trauma care in South Korea. This connection brought attention to the series even before its release. Additionally, Choo Young Woo, a rising star, has drawn praise for his bromance chemistry with Ju Ji Hoon.
On its first day of release, January 25, The Trauma Code topped South Korea’s TOP 10 most popular series list.
With a global rank of 6th and positive reviews pouring in since its release, The Trauma Code is generating excitement about its continued success.
