On January 23, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were revealed as nominees for multiple categories at the upcoming '2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards,' highlighting their global influence.
On January 22 (U.S. time), the iHeartRadio Music Awards unveiled this year’s nominees. Jimin was nominated for 'K-pop Artist of the Year,' while his song 'Who' received recognition in the categories of 'Best Lyrics' and 'K-pop Song of the Year.'
Adding to his list of achievements, the travel series 'Are You Sure?!,' co-created with Jungkook, was nominated for 'Favorite On Screen,' bringing Jimin’s total nominations to four— the highest number for a K-pop soloist this year. This ties the record for most nominations by a Korean solo artist, previously set by Jungkook in 2024. Notably, Jimin is the first Korean artist ever to be nominated in the 'Best Lyrics' category, where he will compete against global stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar.
The 'iHeartRadio Music Awards,' organized by the U.S. online radio broadcaster iHeartRadio since 2014, celebrates artists and songs that garnered the most plays across its platforms over the past year. This year’s ceremony will occur on March 17 in Los Angeles and be broadcast live on FOX.
'Who,' the title track from Jimin’s second solo album MUSE, released in July 2024, remains a staple on major global charts, including Billboard’s Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S., as well as the UK Official Singles Chart. Fans are eager to see if Jimin can turn his continued success into a win at this prestigious event.
Meanwhile, 'Are You Sure?!' is a Disney+ original series that chronicles Jimin and Jungkook’s unforgettable pre-enlistment travel adventures. In the 'Favorite On Screen' category, the series is against documentaries showcasing the musical journeys and world tours of icons like Elton John, Bon Jovi, and Lady Gaga.
BTS has a strong history with the 'iHeartRadio Music Awards,' beginning with their 'Best Boy Band' and 'Best Fan Army' wins in 2018. Over the past seven years, they’ve consistently taken home trophies, with members also earning individual recognition for their solo work last year.
The anticipation is high for this year’s awards, as both Jimin and Jungkook continue to make history and captivate fans worldwide.
