Fans demand thorough investigation into assault allegations involving MADEIN’s agency CEO.
Fans of the group MADEIN have called for a comprehensive investigation and truth clarification regarding assault allegations involving their agency’s CEO.
On November 29th KST, fans staged a truck protest outside 143 Entertainment’s headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul.
The protest trucks displayed messages such as: “Thoroughly investigate and disclose the facts. Do not protect criminals,” and “143 Entertainment, stop remaining silent and resolve the issue swiftly. Fulfill your responsibility to the members as their agency.”
The protest came just one day after 143 Entertainment announced, on November 28th, the departure of MADEIN member Gaeun. The agency stated:
“Gaeun will be leaving the team effective today. Despite her efforts since MADEIN’s debut in September, personal circumstances have made it difficult for her to continue group activities, leading to her decision to leave.”
The agency further announced that MADEIN would continue its activities as a six-member group with Mashiro, Miyu, Suhye, Yeso, Serena, and Nagomi.
Fans strongly opposed the agency’s response, following allegations that CEO A of 143 Entertainment attempted to forcibly kiss and touch member B after allegedly reprimanding her for inviting a man to their dorm. Reports claim the CEO said, “Be my girlfriend for a day,” during the incident.
In response, 143 Entertainment released a statement denying the allegations:
“We clarify that the recently reported sexual assault allegations are completely baseless. We have evidence to prove their falsity and will fully cooperate with any legal proceedings to resolve all doubts.”
The controversy continues to escalate as MADEIN, a multinational girl group with four Japanese members, faces this ongoing issue just months after their debut in September.
