The film ‘Black Nuns’ has confirmed its release date for January 24, 2025, and has revealed an international poster.
‘Black Nuns’ follows the story of individuals who embark on a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. This sequel to ‘The Priests,’ which premiered in 2015 and attracted 5.44 million viewers, opened a new chapter in Korean occult cinema and will greet audiences in the New Year of 2025.
Actress Song Hye Kyo, acclaimed for her intense performance in Netflix’s ‘The Glory,’ takes on a fresh role as Sister Eunia, a nun who stops at nothing to prepare the ritual to save the boy. Playing Sister Michaela, who decides to become a black nun to assist Eunia, is actress Jeon Yeo Bin, known for her wide-ranging roles in the drama ‘Vincenzo,’ ‘Be Melodramatic,’ and the films ‘Cobweb,’ ‘Night in Paradise,’ and the upcoming ‘Harbin.’
Song Hye Kyo’s portrayal of the daring and brave Eunia and Jeon Yeo Bin’s nuanced performance as the inquisitive and skeptical Michaela promise a powerful synergy and transformation for both actresses.
Joining the cast is Lee Jin Wook as Father Baolo, a psychiatrist who does not believe in the existence of demons. Lee has also generated excitement as a new cast member in 'Squid Game' Season 2.
The international poster for ‘Black Nuns,’ which garnered significant interest from global buyers at the 2024 Asian Contents & Film Market, captures the suspenseful image of Eunia and Michaela walking away with the tormented boy, evoking curiosity and tension.
