Kang Dong-won launched his own fashion brand, “NONYMOUSAA,” opening an online store for the new label.
The brand reflects Kang’s personal fashion philosophy, with Kang actively involved as Creative Director, participating in design processes. The brand’s logo, “AA,” is symbolic of Kang himself; it represents an inverted “W” from his English name, a personalized emblem of his identity.
A spokesperson for NONYMOUSAA explained, “We believe true style is defined by simplicity. While our focus is on premium hats, we also offer carefully selected outerwear and knitwear. Our pieces blend modern design with classic silhouettes, each item featuring clean lines, high-quality materials, and minimalist aesthetics to achieve a perfect balance between style and comfort.”
In addition to directing the brand’s vision, Kang also stepped in as the brand’s model, showcasing the signature “AA” caps, hooded sweatshirts, and denim jackets. Standing tall at 186 cm and weighing 66 kg, Kang, now in his 40s, impresses with his striking visuals, embodying the timeless appeal that first made him a top model.
Kang’s return to modeling comes with the launch of his new brand. Other celebrities, such as Davichi’s Kang Min-kyung and entertainer Jo Se-ho, have also taken on dual roles as both founders and models for their brands. Kang began his career as a model prior to his 2003 acting debut in the MBC drama She’s on Top, at that time shifting the trend in male modeling from masculine to more androgynous aesthetics.
Over the past 20 years, Kang has left a significant mark both as a model and as an actor. He has starred in films like Too Beautiful to Lie, Temptation of Wolves, Jeon Woo-chi: The Taoist Wizard, Secret Reunion, The Priests, Master, 1987, Golden Slumber, Peninsula, Broker, and Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman, as well as dramas such as Something About 1% and Magic. His performances have earned him numerous accolades, including the MBC Drama Award for Best New Actor, the Popular Star Award at the 25th Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the Popularity Award in the film category at the 40th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Kang’s career momentum will continue in 2025, with his role in Disney+’s original series North Star. In the series, Kang stars as a mysterious special agent named San-ho, teaming up with Moon-joo, a diplomat and former ambassador to the U.S. played by Jun Ji-hyun, to uncover hidden truths behind a monumental conspiracy.
With NONYMOUSAA’s launch, Kang Dong-won is set to make his mark in the fashion world, combining his longstanding influence and unique vision to shape a new chapter in his multifaceted career.
