The upcoming blockbuster Disney+ production that already piqued interest with its leading lineup of Jun Ji Hyun x Kang Dong Won has now added another must-see star to its cast, Hollywood's John Cho.
The series follows a South Korean diplomat named Moon Joo (played by Jun Ji Hyun) as she tracks down the truth veiled underneath a mysterious case. To find the answers she's looking for, Moon Joo teams up with a special agent named San Ho (Kang Dong Won), whose entire identity, from his nationality to his affiliation, remains unknown.
John Cho, known for his 2018 thriller 'Searching', will take on his first ever role in a South Korean drama production through 'Polaris'. The star has been cast as the United States Assistant Secretary of State, testing out his chemistry with Jun Ji Hyun, Kang Dong Won, and many other veterans representing the South Korean drama industry.
Along with the above, actress Kim Hae Sook has been cast South Korea's president Chae Kyung Shin, while Yoo Jae Myung will take on the role of South Korea's Chief of the National Intelligence Service. Park Hae Joon plays the role of Moon Joo's husband Jun Ik, Lee Mi Sook plays the role of Moon Joo's mother-in-law, and Oh Jung Se takes on the character of Jun Ik's brother Jun Sang.
Directed by Kim Hee Won and scripted by Jung Seo Kyung, 'Polaris' is coming to Disney+ in 2025.
