In recent online discussions, Korean netizens have revisited F.T. Island's Minhwan's past Kakaotalk conversation with fans, which took place during the Burning Sun scandal.
The past conversation has resurfaced following Yulhee's latest YouTube video, which claimed that Minhwan had been visiting adult establishments before the divorce.
Many celebrities, including former F.T. Island member Choi Jong Hoon, were embroiled in the scandal at the time, which prompted widespread public scrutiny and debate.
At the time, Minhwan spoke with fans and reassured them the Burning Sun scandal involving Choi Jong Hoon was "not a big deal." He wrote, "Yeah, it's an issue you don't need to worry about!!," "It's nothing~ but the articles came out so sensationalized that it bothered me too," "I've never even been to Burning Sun or whatever, so it really upsets me to our name being mentioned in the headlines for no reason," and "Don't worry everyone!"
Although Minhwan was reassuring fans, he is being criticized for brushing off the Burning Sun scandal, one of the biggest scandals in Korean entertainment, as something that is "Nothing."
Korean netizens criticized:
"Wow..."
"What does he mean it's nothing? The articles were sensationalized? lol is he crazy?"
"He was upset their name was mentioned lol."
"Fans were reassured when they saw his message probably."
"Wow. His fans must feel so betrayed."
"Well, he did say he didn't like going to clubs!"
"The thing he said it's nothing and articles were sensationalized was Burning Sun... lol."
"I guess what he said isn't wrong that he didn't go Burning Sun because he was busy going somewhere else."
"He's so dirty."
"Wow, I'm so speechless."
"He really lives without thinking."
"So Burning Sun was the only place he didn't go."
"He's so fake."
"Birds of the same feather flock together is so true."
