J-Hope of BTS will take the field to support the KIA Tigers in the second game of the 2024 Korean Series.
According to Sports Chosun, J-Hope is scheduled to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the KIA Tigers vs. Samsung Lions matchup, set to take place on October 22nd at KIA Champions Field in Gwangju.
A long-time fan of KIA, J-Hope has expressed his love for the team, which represents his hometown of Gwangju. In his solo song 'Ma City,' he raps "I'm from Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, baby" and "I start the engine with KIA and bounce like crazy," showcasing his deep affection for both his hometown and the Tigers. Now, J-Hope will personally contribute to the team's celebration by participating in the Korean Series.
Of particular interest is the fact that this will be J-Hope's first public appearance just five days after his military discharge. He enlisted in the army last April, serving as an instructor for 18 months, and completed his service on October 17th. His first official activity post-discharge is throwing the first pitch at the second game of the Korean Series.
