Soccer Player Son Heung Min Reveals His Hobby is Gaming
On September 3 KST, a video titled “Do You Want to Be Funny? Just Think You’re Funny” was released on the YouTube channel ‘TEO (Teo_Universe),’ as part of the ‘Salon Drip 2’ series.
In the video, Son Heung Min expressed his excitement about appearing on the show, saying, “I’ve watched ‘Salon Drip’ and really wanted to meet (Jang Do Yeon). There aren’t many celebrities I want to meet, but she’s definitely in my top 3. When I heard Gong Yoo was the first guest, I got even more excited because he had such nice things to say about the show.”
When asked about his hobbies, Son Heung Min revealed, “I really love gaming.” He explained, “Whenever I have time, I play with my friends. I’m completely serious about it. Since it’s a team game, I even give feedback like, ‘You should have done this here.’”
Jang Do Yeon then asked him how much of his competitiveness plays a role in his life. Son Heung Min replied, “I take competition very seriously. It’s not just in soccer, I hate losing in games too.”
When asked if he has ever spent real money on in-game purchases, Son Heung Min responded with a laugh, “Gaming is all about in-game purchases. You can’t buy time with money in real life, but in games, you can save time by spending money.” He added, “But I do have my limits. I only make in-game purchases when I hit a wall after trying for a while. When I was younger, my mom would never allow it, but now that I earn my own money, I don’t need permission. But I don’t spend my money just anywhere.” He smiled as he shared this.
During a balance game where he had to choose between pro-gamer Faker and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, Son Heung Min chose Ronaldo. He explained, “I respect Faker and think he’s an incredibly cool person. But Ronaldo is my role model. I feel like I can learn something about soccer from everything he does. He’s been my favorite player since I was a kid.”
