A young variety PD who waspart of the teams that created hit programs like 'Three Meals a Day in Gochang', 'New Journey to the West' seasons 2 and 3, 'The Great Escape 4', and 'Comedy Big League' died on the site of a tragic taxi crash. 

On August 22 at approximately 12:25 AM KST, Lee Joo Hyung PD (35) caught a taxi after working overtime. While transporting Lee PD, the taxi was involved in a crash at an intersection in Sangam-dong, Seoul, with a parked bus and a moving, compact car. Lee PD was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. 

Lee PD began his career in content production after joining the CJ ENM broadcasting station tvN in 2016. After working on productions like 'Three Meals a Day in Gochang', 'New Journey to the West' seasons 2 and 3, 'The Great Escape 4', and 'Comedy Big League', Lee PD joined the creative studio Borderless Film in July of 2023. Lee PD and his wife were expecting the birth of their first child in December of this year.

Following the news of Lee PD's tragic death, 7 head producers of the hit program 'New Journey to the West' including Na Young Suk, Shin Hyo Jung, Park Hyun Yong, and more relayed, "Lee Joo Hyung PD was an earnest colleague who approached every task he was given with a strong sense of duty, and who always strived for the best finished product. The light at his desk was always the first to come on, and we will never forget that desk where he always organized all the necessary materials for each program with care."
