On the 29th, singer Lee Sun Hee shared her thoughts on her 40th debut anniversary and once again apologized for the recent controversy.

Lee Sun Hee said, "Forty years ago today, I nervously met you all for the first time on the stage of the Gangbyeon Song Festival. Since then, I have lived with gratitude, receiving immense love as a singer for a long time."

She continued, "Last year, I underwent an intense investigation by law enforcement regarding allegations related to Hook Entertainment. While the authorities found no issues with other allegations, they determined that some of the corporate card usage from my personal company, One Entertainment, from 2011 to 2022, could not be verified as business expenses. As a result, I received a summary order for a fine, which I humbly accepted with a repentant heart."

Reflecting on her career, Lee Sun Hee said, "Over the past 40 years, I have lived as a public figure, a singer, receiving the love of many. I should have been thorough in every aspect, no matter how small, but I deeply regret the things I missed, using ignorance as an excuse."

She added, "Above all, I sincerely apologize for disappointing the many fans who have found solace and hope in my songs over the past 40 years. I promise to live in a way that I can be proud of as a singer. I am sorry to bring such bad news after a long time."

Lee Sun Hee debuted in the music industry in 1984, winning the grand prize at the MBC Gangbyeon Song Festival with "To J." She has since been loved for hit songs such as "Ah! The Old Days," "I Always Miss Him," "Beautiful Country," "Fate," and "Meet Him Among Them."

Meanwhile, in 2022, Lee Sun Hee became involved in a conflict with Hook Entertainment, the agency where singer Lee Seung Gi had long been signed, over settlement issues. 

During her tenure as CEO of One Entertainment, she was investigated by the police for allegedly misusing company funds.
