On July 1, Eve Seo's agency, Soon Entertainment, announced that they are taking legal action to protect the young artist's rights.
Soon Entertainment revealed that, after consulting with legal representatives, they filed a lawsuit on June 21. The charges include violations of the Child and Youth Sexual Protection Act and defamation.
The agency stated, "The malicious posts targeting Eve Seo have reached a serious level," and added, "Particularly concerning are the severe posts directed at our underage artist, prompting us to take strong legal measures to protect her rights."
They added, "Our legal representatives and a dedicated team are continuously collecting evidence. We have identified defamatory posts and comments across various online communities."
The legal representative warned, "Posting malicious content constitutes a crime, and offenders may face penalties such as fines if convicted."
Soon Entertainment emphasized, "While the lawsuit and investigation process may take some time, we are committed to eradicating illegal activities such as sexual crimes and defamation against our underage artist. We will not compromise and will respond strongly until the end against those who infringe on her rights."
Eve Seo, born in 2012, gained significant attention online as the creator of the popular "Maratanghulu" challenge. Known for her bubbly charm, idol-like visuals, and exceptional dance skills, Eve Seo has garnered explosive popularity across various online platforms.
Eve Seo's mother is model and singer Lee Pani, and her father is actor Seo Sung Min. The couple held a private wedding in April 2012.
Seo Sung Min first gained recognition in 2010 through the musical 'Grease.' Lee Pani debuted after winning first place in the Korean Playboy Model Contest.
