BE'O in legal dispute with former agency head San E over unsettled payments

AKP STAFF

Big Planet Made Entertainment is currently engaged in a legal dispute over unsettled payments with BE'O's former agency, Fame Entertainment, regarding revenue distribution during his time with them.

On February 13th, Big Planet Made announced that it is handling the legal conflict on behalf of BE'O against Fame Entertainment. The dispute arose from the profit-sharing agreement made when BE'O was with Fame Entertainment. The contract stipulated that after deducting expenses from the income earned during his time at Fame Entertainment, the remaining amount would be distributed as profit. However, it was discovered that Fame Entertainment had been paying BE'O only the amount left after subtracting all costs from the total revenue, which was not in accordance with the agreed profit-sharing ratio.

Big Planet Made has urged for a correction in the distribution and proper settlement through legal notices, but Fame Entertainment has not responded, leading to the current legal proceedings. Big Planet Made has taken steps to ensure that BE'O can focus on his activities by covering the unsettled payments Fame Entertainment owes to him.

Additionally, Big Planet Made and Fame Entertainment are scheduled to have their first court hearing on this matter on June 13th at the Seoul Central District Court. Big Planet Made has committed to continuing to protect the rights of its artists through diligent legal actions.

Earlier, rapper and CEO of Fame Entertainment, San E, revealed an email from Big Planet Made Entertainment. The email, titled 'Big Planet-BE'O Q1 2024 Settlement Data', stated that Fame Entertainment's claims are incorrect and currently under legal examination, expecting the court to find them baseless. This has sparked further interest in the ongoing dispute.

Here is the full statement from Big Planet Made Entertainment:

Big Planet Made Entertainment informs you that we are currently managing a legal dispute concerning unsettled payments from BE'O's time at his former agency, Fame Entertainment.

In February 2022, after signing an exclusive contract with our company, we learned that Fame Entertainment had only paid BE'O the amount remaining after deducting all expenses from the total sales, contrary to the agreed upon profit-sharing contract. Consequently, we have demanded a correction in this illegal distribution and the payment of the correct settlement through legal notices. However, as Fame Entertainment has not complied, we have been forced into a legal battle.

Big Planet Made Entertainment has advanced the payments Fame Entertainment owes to BE'O to ensure he can concentrate on his artistic activities.

Furthermore, Big Planet Made Entertainment and Fame Entertainment are set to attend the first hearing related to this case on June 13th at the Seoul Central District Court.

We reaffirm our commitment to vigorously defending the rights of our artists through legal means.

I don't get it, isn't paying him after "deducting expenses from the income" and "subtracting all cost from total revenue", the same thing?
