It was previously reported that ICHILLIN's Chowon had sustained an injury after being hit by a foul ball at a baseball game.
KM Entertainment announced in an official statement on April 17 KST that Chowon sustained a head injury from a foul ball while attending a baseball game ahead of her scheduled halftime performance on April 16 KST. She was promptly taken to the club's medical facility and later transferred to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
The agency assured that Chowon is currently resting comfortably and undergoing necessary medical treatment. Following consultation with medical professionals, it was deemed essential for her to prioritize rest and recovery. As a result, Chowon will be taking a hiatus from all activities until her condition improves. During this time, ICHILLIN' will continue to promote as a six-member group, with Chowon temporarily excluded.
Expressing regret for the unexpected news and the concern it may have caused to fans and baseball enthusiasts alike, the agency extended gratitude to the Kiwoom Heroes officials for their assistance throughout the ordeal.
Check out their full statement below:
"Hello, this is KM Entertainment.
We would like to inform you about the current health status and future activities of ICHILLIN' member Chowon.
Chowon was hit by a foul ball in the back of her head while watching the game ahead of the professional baseball halftime performance on April 16 and was taken to the club's infirmary. After observation, she was moved to a nearby hospital for a detailed examination.
When she was taken to the infirmary after the incident, she complained of pain for a while, but she is currently resting without any problems due to treatment and examination by professional medical staff.
However, based on the opinion of a professional medical institution, we decided that it was necessary to focus on treatment while getting sufficient rest and stability, and after a thorough discussion with Chowon, we decided to focus on rest without any further schedule for the time being.
ICHILLIN' plans to attend the schedule scheduled for today (April 17) with a group of 6, excluding Chowon, and we ask for fans' generous understanding of the decision that put the artist's health first.
We would like to apologize for causing concern to fans who have always loved and cherished ICHILLIN' and many baseball fans with sudden news. We would like to apologize and thank the Kiwoom Heroes officials for their hard work from the beginning of the situation to the present. We will do our best to restore the health of our prairie sheep.
thank you"
