Star News stated, "After wrongfully identifying a non-celebrity woman as the mistress of her ex-husband, Hwang Jung Eum was able to contact her through Instagram direct message and conveyed her apologies."

Hwang Jung Eum's agency also confirmed, "Hwang Jung Eum contacted the woman through direct message and apologized. She is still in the process of apologizing and is making utmost efforts for an amicable resolution, including compensation for any damages."
