TWS, which stands for “Twenty Four Seven With Us,” is a rookie boy group under PLEDIS Entertainment that made their official debut on January 22, 2024, with the mini album “Sparkling Blue.” The debut was highly anticipated, particularly given their status as the juniors of the K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN. The debut track “Plot Twist” captivated listeners and charted very well in South Korea, surprising K-pop fans worldwide.
TWS is composed of six members: Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin. Each of them underwent varying periods of rigorous training at PLEDIS Entertainment before their debut, but did you know that Shinyu and Jihoon have fascinating backgrounds as former trainees from BIG 4 agencies? Let’s explore their journeys:
Shinyu – SM Entertainment
Shinyu, the leader of TWS, is a former trainee of SM Entertainment, a powerhouse in the K-pop industry responsible for producing global sensations like EXO and Girls' Generation, among others. He honed his skills with rigorous training under one of the industry's most renowned agencies. Despite not debuting under SM Entertainment, Shinyu's time as a trainee undoubtedly contributed to his abilities, which he now showcases as the leader of TWS.
Jihoon – YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, BigHit Music
Han Jihoon from TWS boasts a wealthy background, having received prior training under BigHit Music, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment, three of South Korea's BIG 4 agencies. He is also a former member of BigHit Music’s pre-debut boy group, Trainee A. Years of training under these high-profile agencies provided Jihoon with the necessary skills and experiences. However, he eventually joined TWS, where his talents continue to shine.
