According to an exclusive report by media outlet THE FACT on February 22 KST, actress Hwang Jung Eum is in the midst of divorce proceedings with her husband Lee Young Don. 

Sources claimed that Hwang Jung Eum recently submitted divorce papers to the court, citing Lee Young Don as the cause of a rift in the couple's marriage.

Hwang Jung Eum married the former professional golfer and businessman in 2016. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in 2017. Then, in 2020, the couple became wrapped up in rumors of divorce after it was revealed that they had filed for divorce mediation. Some time later in July of 2021, Hwang Jung Eum's side announced that the couple overcame their differences during the mediation and chose to continue their marital bond. In March of 2022, Hwang Jung Eum gave birth to her second son. 

Now, after 8 years of marriage, the couple may be facing a marital crisis once again. 

Meanwhile, Hwang Jung Eum most recently starred in the SBS drama 'The Escape of the Seven' last year. The story continues with its new season, 'Rebirth of the Seven: War For Survival Season 2', set to premiere in March. Hwang Jung Eum will return as the character Geum Ra Hee.
