'The 15th Melon Music Awards' is coming soon on December 2, announced Kakao Entertainment on October 19 KST.
This year, the prestigious year-end award ceremony will take place at the Inspire Entertainment Arena, newly opened as of October 18 KST at Yeongjong Island in Incheon, the same island which houses Incheon International Airport. Built as South Korea's first ever multi-purpose performance arena, the Inspire Entertainment Arena boasts a capacity of 15,000. The '15th Melon Music Awards' will be the first large-scale K-Pop award ceremony to take place at this historic new venue dedicated to K-Pop and its global fans. Needless to say, the award ceremony promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for all fans, those attending in-person and those tuning in on TV.
This year, the theme of the '15th Melon Music Awards', or 'MMA 2023', will be "K-Pop Changes the World". Voting for one of the most competitive categories at the awards, the 'Melon Top 10', will begin in early November.
Furthermore, the 'MMA 2023' will showcase a new award category for the first time this year, the 'Millions Top 10'. Similar to the 'Melon Top 10', this award category applies to albums released in the past year which accumulated over 1 million streams within the first 24 hours of its release. A total of 30 nominees will be chosen by Melon, after which fan votes will determine the final 'Million Top 10'.
Live streaming for the 'MMA 2023' will be available via Wavve, the 'Melon' app, Abema TV, and more.
