Jimin's ELLE KOREA & GQ KOREA Magazine covers dominate the Bestseller categories on the top 3 biggest online bookstores in South Korea
A few days ago, it was revealed that Jimin would be spearheading Tiffany & Co.'s Fall collection campaign as well as Dior's Spring 2024 collection campaign as the face of both product lines. It would be the first time in history that an Asian individual is the face of a clothing campaign for a luxury brand, and Jimin has written this history by doing so with the biggest French luxury brand for his first campaign. For Tiffany, this is Jimin's second campaign for the brand. Both brands then released magazine covers for their respective campaigns on the exact same day, Dior with GQ KOREA and Tiffany & Co. with ELLE KOREA, each side having 3 different covers with Jimin as the sole model.
Notably, in a report published by Luxe Digital in Sept 2023, both Tiffany & Co. and Dior ranked among the world's most popular online brands, with Dior taking the crown for the first time in the history of this ranking and Tiffany ranking 8th as the highest ranking luxury Jewelry brand on the list [refer here].
The platform states that it estimates the online popularity of a brand by "taking into account a combination of brand value, search share of voice, and social media conversations" in creating this list. Jimin's widespread global and online popularity also translates to unbeatable brand power, which has been witnessed time and again when his clothing items or jewelry, among many other things, sell out instantly whenever fans spot him with them as previously reported on numerous occasions, and the case was the same this time too.
Just a few hours after the magazines went up for pre-orders, all the top 6 bestseller rankings in different categories were occupied by the 6 covers from both magazines, not just on one but on all 3 of the top/biggest online bookstores in South Korea including Aladin, Kyobo and Yes24, portraying his influence in the country.
