On October 9, Bluedot Entertainment's six-piece boy group JUST B — composed of members DY, SANGWOO, Bain, LIM JIMIN, GEONU, and JM — has returned with a new mini-album, '÷ (NANUGI).' This record came 11 months after the release of their previous mini-album titled '= (NEUN).'
In between the release dates of both albums, JUST B made sure to give fans new music every single time they got the opportunity to do so. Within those 11 months, the band dropped four singles, including "Camellia" and "Tasty" as well as their collaborative single with AleXa, "JUST Be with you Pt. 1" and the original television soundtrack for the drama series 'CEO-dol Mart,' titled "Paradise."
'÷ (NANUGI)' marks JUST B's fourth mini-album and is related to their previous release, gaining anticipation on what they may release next. The album consists of 7 tracks: The title song "MEDUSA," the B-sides "DRAMA," "Paper Plane," "Youth," "Coming Home," "Camellia," and the acoustic English version of "Coming Home."
Notably, the members once again participated in writing and composing the tracks. They also revealed that they worked on creating the dance choreography for this comeback. Continue reading allkpop's exclusive interview with the sextet below to learn more about '÷ (NANUGI),' creative process, their pre-show routines, and more!

allkpop: This is your first mini-album for 2023. Tell us how you prepared for it given that you've released four singles, including your latest OST before '÷ (NANUGI)' this year.
LIM JIMIN: Since our last album '= (NEUN),' we have released a total of 4 songs including the OST. We prepared each song so that our fans, ONLY B, wouldn't be lonely during our hiatus.
allkpop: I was wondering if any of the members participated once again in the creation of the album tracks this time around. [This interview was conducted before the tracklist was revealed]
DY: This time, of course, there are songs composed by the members themselves. There are 3 songs [the members took part in]. Tracks 4, 5, and 6 are composed by me and Bain, and all three songs contain different emotions, so I hope you'll listen carefully.
allkpop: How was the recording process? And as for the music video shooting, could you share with us any behind-the-scenes moments?
JM: There are 3 self-composed songs in this album by Bain and DY. They are songs that Bain made for the first time since our debut. When we were recording, we were directed by him so it felt nostalgic like the time when we debuted and was interesting. Also in the music video, we were in LA and it was very hot. During the evening filming, there was a scene where I was splashed with water at a car wash, and I remember finishing the filming well because it was very cool.
allkpop: Could you please elaborate to us on the meaning behind the title 'NANUGI' or the division math symbol? What does it symbolize? It seems like this is part of your album series since you also have an EP but with the title '= (NEUN).'
Bain: First of all, the title of this album is 'NANUGI.' With the theme of sharing, this album is filled with the hope that the public will find happiness nearby through sharing, rather than chasing only luck. And the new 'NANUGI' album released this time is also related to the previously released 'NEUN' album. We ask for your interest.
allkpop: This is your first mini-album in almost a year since the release of '= (NEUN)' in November of last year. What do you think is the biggest difference between your experience working on your third EP and fourth EP?
GEONU: The biggest difference is that our members participated more in this album than in the third EP. Also, we have worked on the choreography of the title song "Medusa." Bain, DY, and I have worked on "Coming Home" as well as "Camellia" and "Youth." That's the biggest difference, and after all, that's all we've got.
allkpop: You recently performed at KCON LA and now Saudi Arabia! How do you usually prepare for a large-scale performance and what are the thoughts running through your mind just before you go up on stage and being on stage?
Bain: We always do our best to practice and prepare before we go on stage. We've been to a lot of opportunities to be on big stages, including KCON LA and now Saudi Arabia. I feel like we're having a lot of different experiences, and we’re able to experience and learn a lot. So, we enjoy going up on stage. Before going on stage, we always warm up and prepare for the stage by setting our minds and imagining ourselves performing hard on stage.
allkpop: What are your pre-show preparations or routines?
SANGWOO: In my case, I calm my mind and my heart becomes passionate... and I do some stretches.
DY: I tie my shoelaces very tightly. Because I don't want my shoelaces to become loose or undone while I'm performing on stage.
Bain: For me, I really care about my inner peace.
allkpop: 2023 will end in a few months! What goals do you have for the rest of the year as well as your goals for the year 2024?
GEONU: Having a lot of stages and in good condition. Meeting our fans a lot all over the world and maybe winning some awards in the category of stage performance.
allkpop: Are there any activities that you are interested in doing, maybe during some of your free time be it a hobby you'd really love to do?
SANGWOO: For me, I seem to be doing a lot of walking while listening to music these days.
LIM JIMIN: Workout!
Bain: Since I'm on a diet these days, I'm looking for delicious diet meals, and that's kind of my hobby.
GEONU: Just read comics with music and watching Netflix
DY: I like going to restaurants alone, and I love going to my favorite Japanese restaurant.
JM: I like to watch interesting or funny things on YouTube or go for a walk.
allkpop: Lastly, please leave a message to everyone who will be reading this interview!
LIM JIMIN: JUST B made a comeback on October 9th after 11 months. It's been a long time since we made our comeback, so we prepared a lot of different songs for our album. It even contains the members’ self-written songs, so we hope ONLY B really like it. We will work really hard on our future activities as well. I hope you look forward to more in the future. This has been JUST B.
